Richard Liu Qiangdong was born in Jiangsu Province, China, in 1974. He received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Beijing University in 1996 and his master’s degree in business administration from Renmin University of China in 1999. After graduation, he began working for Japan Life, a Japanese direct marketing company. In 2000, he founded JD.com with $12,000 of his own money and three employees.
Today, JD.com is a Fortune 500 company with over $30 billion in annual revenue. It is the largest online retailer in China and the second largest Internet company by revenue. Richard Liu attributes much of JD.com’s success to its focus on customer service and logistics. He also believes that JD.com’s experience as an e-commerce company gives it a competitive advantage in the emerging field of online retail.
In the future, Qiangdong’s plans to continue expanding JD.com’s reach by opening more warehouses and delivery centers around the world.
Liu Qiangdong also intends to continue investing in new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and drones, that will further improve JD.com’s operations.
I believe that there are three keys to our success. First is our focus on customer service. We always put the customer first and work hard to ensure that they have a positive experience when shopping with us. Second is our logistics network. We have built an extensive network of warehouses and delivery centers that allows us to get products to our customers quickly and efficiently. Finally, we have built a strong team of employees who are passionate about what they do. These three factors have allowed us to build a successful company that is loved by its customers.
Of course, we cannot rest on our laurels. We must continue to work hard and innovate if we want to stay ahead of the competition. In the future, we will continue to invest in new technologies that will improve our operations and help us better serve our customers. I am confident that as long as we remain focused on these three key areas, we will continue to be successful in the years to come. Refer to this page for additional information.
